ASSEMBLY

ASSEMBLER (Six for 2nd Shift)Responsible for production assembly, equipment operation, product quality and meeting standard output levels. Ability to lift up to and bend to move 55lbs.

CONTRACT ASSEMBLY SUPERVISOR/PLANNER — Responsible for providing leadership for Sterling Assembly operations productivity, goal setting, training and variance reporting. In addition to department profitability, this position will also be responsible for planning of both the Sterling and Leominster assembly operations along with some purchasing responsibilities. Must have demonstrated leadership skills. Coputer proficient with IQMS and MS Office products. Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing capacity inclusing assembly.

CONTRACT ASSEMBLY SENIOR TECHNICIAN — Responsible for providing hands on technical leadership for all SMC East Contract Assembly operations which includes set-ups, trouble shooting, improvements, direct interface with engineering for new products and processes. Maintain and promote improvement and cost savings programs. Also responsible for all equipment, maintenance and for delegation, training of junior technician roles. Minimum 3 years experience in a technical manufacturing capacity, automation and assembly operations.

LEAD ASSEMBLER — Assist the Assembly Supervisor with direct assembly operations including productivity, traceability, training and reporting, and have the necessary skills and knowledge to fill in for the Assembly Supervisor when needed. The Assembly Lead will be comfortable with set-up and operation of assigned equipment, also will work to make the operation mistake free and recognized for outstanding service to internal and external customers. 3+ years of experience in assembly operations, Associate degree preferred.

ENGINEERING

PROJECT MANAGER — Manage the development of new projects from quotation support, through development and validation of molds, equipment, and manufacturing processes, and successful transfer to Manufacturing. Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, Solidworks is preferred. 5-7 years experience in the Plastics Industry, preferably Injection Molding, Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably Plastics.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER — Support development of new projects, sustaining engineering support for production programs, develop manufacturing and automation equipment, and improve manufacturing methods and procedures. Working knowledge 3D CAD modeling and detailing, Solidworks is preferred. 2-3 years experience in plastics manufacturing, preferably injection molding. Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably Plastics.

MAINTENANCE

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC A (2nd Shift) — Responsible for troubleshooting and repairs to all molding equipment including injection molding machines, robots, and other auxiliary equipment. Minimum of 5-7 years experience in injection molding. Associates Degree or Two-year Technical College Degree. Ability to read hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic prints and diagrams.

PRODUCTION

MACHINE OPERATOR (Two for 2nd Shift, Two for B Shift, Three for C Shift)Responsible for operating Automatic and Insert Molding Machines. Check all inserts and production for visual defects such as grease, dirt, shorts, flash and burns.  Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and bend to move up to 50 lbs.

PROCESS TECHNICIAN (One for 1st Shift, Two for 2nd Shift)Responsible for all production startups after mold changes or repairs. Perform daily checks on molds, machines, robots and all other equipment to ensure peak performance. Maintain DMRs as well as existing run sheet files and develop new run sheets. Must be self motivated and a strong team player with excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail. Minimum 5 years experience as a Plastics Process Technician required.

PROCESS TECHNICIAN (Sat and Sun 8 p.m - 8 a.m. plus 2-8 hours shifts M-F)Responsible for all production startups after mold changes or repairs. Perform daily checks on molds, machines, robots and all other equipment to ensure peak performance. Maintain DMRs as well as existing run sheet files and develop new run sheets. Must be self motivated and a strong team player with excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail. Minimum 5 years experience as a Plastics Process Technician required.

SERVICE PERSON (1st Shift, C Shift)Responsible for servicing all automatic molding machines, operating insert molding machines, visual inspection of parts, filling material hoppers, grinding runners and moving finished production to packing area. Ability to lift up to and bend to move 55lbs.

PACKER (D Shift)Responsible to weigh, package, and label all production as needed. Generate labels from IQ for all production. Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of boxes, labels, bags, etc. Follow packaging procedures per SOP C10010 for each customer as outlined in the packaging specifications. Ability to lift and bend to move up to 55lbs.

SHIFT SUPERVISOR (D Shift)Responsible for supervising all activities on the molding room floor including machine start-ups and shift disposition. Must be self motivated and a strong player with excellent leadership and communication skills. 3-5 years Supervisory experience in a plastics manufacturing environment required.

MATERIAL MIXER (One for 1st Shift, One for 2nd Shift)Responsible for mixing and grinding of materials and maintaining the material Loading Area. high School Diploma or equivalent. Experience in Material Mixing preferably in injection molding.

QUALITY

QUALITY ENGINEER — Work directly with Engineering, Tooling, and Manufacturing to ensure adequate quality systems, inspection methods and tools are utilized for molding and assembling parts. Ensure proper controls, operator instructions and quality tools are used to verify customer products at all phases of the manufacturing process. Review and approve all PPAP, FAIR's, Validation Data and M&P studies. Communicate with customers regarding compliant resolution and quality related questions. Responsible for maintaining ISO certification compliance. Must have experience with IQ/OQ/PQ, FWEA's and CAPA's. Must possess the ability to read and understand 2D detailed part drawings as well as understanding of all quality related inspection equipment. Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Degree preferred with 5 years Quality Engineering or related experience in injection molding.

QUALITY INSPECTOR (Weekend Day Shift – Sat and Sun 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., plus 2-8 hour shifts) — Perform visual, dimensional and functional inspections. Experience with measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers and comparators. Strong mathematical skills, knowledge in statistics and a high school diploma are required. 1-3 years quality and plastics injection molding preferred.
