SMC Ltd. Receives Three Grants From The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development
SMC has received three grants from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Fast Forward Program to be used for training efforts in the areas of Customer Service, Robotics, and Quality. “SMC is committed to promoting from within and continuing to create a highly skilled, cutting edge workforce. SMC Ltd. Receives Grant From Massachusetts Life Science Center
The Massachusetts Life Science Center (MLSC) announced the board of directors has awarded $19 million in tax dollars to 11 life science companies, including SMC Ltd. The program authorizes tax incentives each year for companies engaged in life science research and development, commercialization and manufacturing to create new jobs in Massachusetts. “SMC appreciates the 2015 grant awarded by the Massachusetts Life Science Center. As a life science manufacturer to the Top Healthcare companies, SMC strives to provide the highest quality products and services to our Massachusetts based customers and international customers as well. We look forward to expanding our workforce in conjunction with expanding our capabilities as we move into our new facility in Devens, MA later this year.” Brian Payson, Vice President and General Manager SMC East.

Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award
On February 25th, Matthew Bethke (C-Shift Supervisor, SMC Drive, Wisconsin, and Battalion Affects Coordinator with the National Guard) presented an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award to Tarry Bridgewater (Production Manager, SMC Drive, Wisconsin) and SMC Ltd. as a whole. This award is in recognition of the support that SMC has given Matthew during the monthly training activities he is required to attend as a National Guard soldier. In addition, it also recognizes that Tarry and SMC have shown a genuine interest in Mathew’s military training, including asking questions about the training and what his job entails in the military. “Being an officer in the military for the past seven years, I have yet to see this level of commitment in any company in my civilian career.
